KYC Verification: Accepted Documents

Updated today

To increase your purchase limits on Wert — or in some cases, simply to continue using our services — you may be asked to verify your identity by submitting official documents. This is part of our Document KYC (Know Your Customer) process, which helps keep the platform secure and ensures we meet regulatory requirements.

To complete document verification (KYC) on Wert, you’ll need to go through three steps:

1. Submit a valid government-issued ID

Accepted documents (must be clearly readable and not expired):

  • National identity card (front and back)

  • Passport

  • Driver’s license (front and back)

2. Complete a selfie check

We’ll ask you to take a photo of yourself as part of the verification. This helps us confirm that the ID you provided really belongs to you.

🇺🇸 For U.S. residents: You can submit just your driver’s license and complete a liveness check — no additional proof of address is required.

3. Submit proof of address (not required for U.S. residents)

Your document must:

  • Show your full name and residential address

  • Be issued within the last 3 months

  • Be a full document — screenshots or scanned versions won’t be accepted

Accepted documents:

  • Bank/card statements (PDF) — except Neobanks

  • Utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, landline)

  • Tax returns or council tax bills

  • Government-issued certificates showing your address

Not accepted:

  • Mobile phone bills

  • Insurance or medical statements

  • Purchase receipts

  • Redacted or scanned documents

How long does it take?

Most verifications are completed within a few minutes.

If a manual review is required, it may take longer — feel free to contact us if you’re unsure.
