What is KYC?

KYC, or "Know your customer," is a process that helps us identify you.

Why do I need to verify?

At Wert, we prioritize creating a secure and trustworthy environment for all our customers. To minimize the risk of fraud, we require a straightforward verification process. As a licensed virtual currency provider regulated by Estonia and the United States authorities, this process is essential to meeting our regulatory commitments and ensuring the integrity of transactions on our platform.

What are the KYC requirements and limits?

Here at Wert, we have two KYC levels:

Non-document KYC

Limits:

Crypto - €1,000

NFTs - €5,000

This limit applies to the lifetime of your profile. If you reach or exceed that limit in your purchase, you must complete document KYC.

Requirements:

Non-document KYC requires a name, date of birth, email and billing address.

Application review time:

In most cases, it takes just a few seconds to complete; however, sometimes a manual review is necessary, and it could take longer. If your application is taking longer than usual, see below for more details.

Document KYC

Limits:

Crypto - €10,000

NFTs - €20,000

This is a weekly limit and resets every Monday.

Requirements

Document KYC includes document verification, where we ask you to upload proof of identity and address and complete a liveness check (similar to a video selfie). Take a picture of your document to ensure it's clearly readable and contains all the necessary information. Screenshots will not be accepted.

US residents can also complete document KYC by providing their driver’s license and completing the liveness check.

1. Valid government-issued ID document

Your options:

- national identity card (front+back)

- passport

- driving license (front+back)

2. Proof of your residential address

The document confirming your address must contain your name and address and be dated less than 3 months before the submission date.

What can be used:

- bank/card statement (usually the easiest and most helpful option, can be downloaded from your bank)

- utility bills

- tax returns

- council tax bills

- government-issued certificates

Mobile bills, medical bills, purchase receipts, or insurance statements are not accepted.

Application review time:

In most cases, FKYC takes only a minute or two to complete; however, if a manual review is necessary, it could take longer. If your application is taking longer than usual, see below for more details.

Why is my application still pending?

Sometimes, your profile will be tagged for a manual review, which takes longer than the automated process. If this happens when you are completing non-document KYC, you may be asked to complete document KYC. Please do not create a new profile to bypass this as it will result in both profiles being blocked.

Why was my application rejected?

If your non-document KYC application was rejected, you would receive an email asking you to complete document KYC. This can happen when we need some more information from you to confirm your identity.

If your document KYC application was asked for resubmission, you will receive an email with information on what was wrong and what you need to re-upload.

If you receive a final rejection, you will also receive an email notification; for any further details, please contact us using the chat box in the bottom right-hand corner of this page or email us at [email protected]
